Writing this post after 2 coffee, 1 hot tea, beer and a brandy - i am building a home service biz on the side
A home service biz is so easy after software marketing
am i the only one or marketing for home service biz feels like a piece of cake after doing marketing for softwares and apps ?
i am building a home service business on the side and marketing for it feels way easier.
for ie. in home service all you gotta do is
- hire contract workers + always be on the lookout for the new people
- run some @Google + @Yelp ads
- cold call tons of property managers, healthcare clinics, and local businesses.. get rejected by a few 100 folks and repeat.
- get a contract and send contract workers with their supply and equipment to that place for work
- once work is done get review (good or bad) .. if its bad improve in the next location
and repeat 🔁
that’s it !
ps- if home service biz starts growing faster then its a little harder (ie. insurance, company registration, managing schedules, staff, buying equipments, getting a storage and more)
for software marketing you gotta
- build a software
- submit to directories for backlinks + start working on seo
- get feedback from reddit, X, and fb marketplace
- improve product and get feedback again
- run social media paid ads while keeping track of cpc and more stuff
- prepare for product hunt and more launches … request for reviews
- get more customers
- secure enough revenue to hire a kick ass developer (if bootstrapping)
- reachout to VCs/investors for funding (if fund raising)
- keep track of marketing, conversions, and always be on the lookout for another product idea cz current idea can fail immediately because of 1 small ai update
am i missing anything ?
